Where the VOICE Experience began

Voice

I was looking for my voice, but then I realized it was never lost.
I was waiting for permission when, in reality, I was already granted admission.
It was my belief that was holding me back,
Stopping me from engaging, thinking that somehow my voice lacked
Authority, wisdom, knowledge, credibility, and know-how.
When, after all this time, I found that it was what I was allowing
To keep me from being part of the conversation,
From thinking that I hadn’t earned the right for participation.
Then I thought: what would I do if I believed
That my voice carried messages for change,
That my input was powerful, that it could change life outcomes?
Would it change how I choose to engage?
Would I step forward and fill out my space?
Would I take my seat at the table,
Or would I allow that vacancy to continue?
In the end, we all have lost
If we give up our right to share our voice.
